International Motorcycle Show - Novi Michigan 2009 : Cycle World Magazine kicks off the New Year of 2009 with their International Motorcycle show at the Rock Financial Center in Novi. WHat a different show from a few years ago when most of the booths were sporting huge motors, raked out choppers and non-rider friendly bikes. This year was totally different with the busiest booths being those showing off high mileage scooters, comfortable looking cruisers and a move towards bikes made to get you out riding rather than just showing them off in front of the local saloon. Michigan Renaissance Festival 2008 : Ahhh, the Michigan Renaissance Festival. The one time of the year where plus size girls are the queens, Dungeons & Dragons followers can wear their costumes outside of mom's basement and you get to eat meat on a stick in public. This festival comes to town every year from August thru October and should be seen by the whole family. All ages will come away with fond memories of an era not so forgotten by some. Boomers Final Bike Night 2008 : Boomers Roadhouse hosts the largest weekly bike night in the state of Michigan. The final bike night is where Boomer and ABC Harley give away a Harley Davidson Sportster to one lucky winner I'd say this year there was probably 1000 people there and the weather held out perfectly to make it one heck of a night! Night Club & Bar Show 2007 Las Vegas : We've gone to the Night Club & Bar Convention for the past few years to stay on top of the industry and make sure we know what is coming out each year before it actually hits the shelves in the local clubs. 2007 we sent one of our young writers/photographers on assignment to the biggest Drinking Fest in Vegas. If you've never heard of this show, just think of the Las Vegas Convention Center packed full with every Liquor/Beer/Energy Drink Name in the industry packed under one roof. Once the show ends for the day, the clubs fill up with participants and party goers till the show starts again the next day. Nick, or fearless STLD staff member had just turned 21 and we thought this would be a great trip for him, filled with plenty of firsts. It was his first time on a plane, first time in Vegas, first time to the Night Club & Bar Show and needless to say, it was as wild as you could imagine. What were we thinking sending a 21 year old stud with a couple of hotties on his arm with full VIP Tickets to some of the hottest clubs in Sin City! I'm amazed no one got arrested, we got invited back this year and Nick still has a liver. 48 hours in Las Vegas and they never went to bed and almost every picture is as fuzzy their buzz was.
